About

I’m a programmer and consultant based in Scotland.  I’ve been delivering software and teams for more than 20 years in a variety of languages, platforms, countries and client industries.

Right now I’m mostly focused on iOS using ObjectiveC and Swift, but in the past I’ve delivered software in C/C++, Java and Ruby with occasional forays into FORTRAN and C#.

I co-organised the wildly successful Scottish Ruby Conference (not just scots, not just ruby and more than just a conference) which eventually ran to 3 tracks, 30 speakers and 300 people and featured swords, dancers and a private cello performance.

I also organise NSScotland, a smaller conference for iOS and Mac developers in Edinburgh. No swords yet, but we do have an extraordinary chilli dinner every year courtesy of Illegal Jacks.
